Make your vacation complete with a visit to British Virgin Islands attractions
There's a lot more to British
Virgin Islands than sun and surf. British Virgin Islands attractions
offer a myriad of things to see and do, whether you're looking to
fill an hour or a day. With choices as varied as museums, cruises,
and historical sites, you'll never have a dull moment during your
visit to British Virgin Islands. Of course, our beautiful beaches
remain the reason people visit year after year. So let us show you
some of our favorite places to play.
Apple
Bay
Surf's up at this beach just east of Smuggler's Cove in
Tortola. Brave the monster waves, or socialize at an eccentric beach
bar, Bomba's Surfside Shack, made out of driftwood.
Dead Chest
Take photos of this rocky landmark, in Sir Francis Drake Channel,
where Blackbeard supposedly left a crew of rebels ashore with only
one bottle of rum.
Guana
Island
Interact with some of nature's best at this 847-acre wildlife
sanctuary in northeast Tortola. Guana Island - a world-leading refuge
- teems with various species animals, including flamingos, hawks,
bats, and sea turtles.
Fallen Jerusalem
Climb the rocky terrain of Fallen Jerusalem, a sailor's choice
when it comes to attractions in the frequented Sir Francis Drake
Channel. The national monument bears a striking resemblance to the
ancient city in decay.
Lighthouse
Rub elbows with the islanders during an afternoon rendezvous at
this popular gathering place in Leverick Bay, just outside of the
North Sound.
Mount
Sage National Park
Hike through the lush rain forest at this national park located
in Tortola. The highest point is elevated at approximately 1,780
feet.
Norman
Island
Touch the tail-end of the Sir Francis Drake Channel for an undersea
probe of the ghostly caves at Treasure Point; the site of a floating
bar called "Willie T."
Salt Island
Sail on over to Sir Francis Drake Channel's briny side at this
island, where Queen Elizabeth of England supposedly collects a sack
of salt a year for rent. Take a photo of the salt pond, or dive
beneath the island to explore the sunken RMS Rhone.
Soper's Hole Wharf
Drift on over to this marina aligned with a string of waterside
taverns where you can enjoy an evening tot with the islanders or
fellow mariners.
The
Baths
This stoned beach in Virgin Gorda is the British Virgins'; best,
by popular opinion. Climb on top of the massive granite boulders
to sunbathe, or snorkel the translucent waters flowing through its
tunnels and caves. The Baths is only accessible by boat.
