Planning your British Virgin Islands vacation
Pack
a peace of mind, and leave your cell phone, laptop, and worries behind.
No crowds, traffic, or expressway here. No place to shop, and nothing
to fear. British Virgin Islands hotels are an ideal place for the
vacationer escaping the hustle and bustle of a busy metropolis. Coast
the deep blue Caribbean Sea during an island-hopping journey from
the towering hillsides of Tortola to the hollow Horseshoe Reef in
Anegada. The British Virgin Islands, a highly visited yacht basin,
is a sailor's dreamland. The vessels speckle the islands' enchanting
waterways for a gentle glide through The Baths, a series of water-filled
coves made out of piles of oversized, jumbled granite. A delightful
vacation awaits you at British Virgins Islands hotels, where temperatures
stay fixed between 72 to 90 degrees year-round. Vacationers on a seafaring
journey in the British Virgins will find comfort within the warm embrace
of the Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Anegada, Jost van Dyke and Necker islands,
and the beaded islets of the Sir Francis Drake Channel. Retreat to
this lovely hiding place, and allow its relaxed atmosphere and inviting
waters to soothe you. Tortola has a good share of quality hotels and
resorts, but Virgin Gorda takes lodging to another level with a number
of first-class resorts.
Travel Tips
The beaches at British Virgin Islands are its main attraction, so
beach safety is of utmost importance for vacation planners. Be sure
to wear sunscreen with a high SPF, as the sun can be quite intense,
even on cloudy days. Reapply after swimming, activity, or after several
hours on the beach. While you want to return home with a great tan,
a bad sunburn can put a damper on your vacation. Build your tan slowly
during your stay. Many areas along the beaches are patrolled by lifeguards,
and families with young children would be advised to frequent these.
British Virgin Islands is a very safe place to visit, but visitors
should use common sense. Don’t leave valuables in your vehicle, or
on the beach unattended. Numerous banks are located throughout the
islands which offer currency exchange, and ATM’s are plentiful. |
